Image Licensing

The Search Sherpa publishes diagrams, illustrations, and photos that explain local SEO, AI search, and online visibility for business owners. This page explains who owns those images, how you can use them, and how to ask for more.

It applies to every image published on thesearchsherpa.com. The licensing details in our image metadata point to this page.

Not every image on this site follows the same rules. The rules depend on how the image was made and who owns it. Here are the three kinds you will find.

• AI-generated illustrations and diagrams. The Search Sherpa plans, prompts, reviews, labels, and publishes these images using AI image tools. Their captions or descriptions say they are AI-generated. Any people shown in them are fictional.
• Photos of our team. These are real photos of Jeremy Bengtson and the people who work with The Search Sherpa.
• Screenshots and third-party images. These include screenshots of tools like Google Search Console, other companies' logos, and video thumbnails. They belong to their owners.

The Search Sherpa name, logo, and mascot identify our business. The words, labels, and layouts we write and design are our work. So are the photos we take or commission.

The U.S. Copyright Office has said that material generated by AI, without enough human control over it, is not protected by copyright. We do not claim copyright in AI-generated material beyond what the law allows. Our name, logo, mascot, and words are still ours, and the conditions on this page apply when you use our images.

You may use our AI-generated illustrations and diagrams for free in editorial and educational work. That includes blog posts, news stories, class and training materials, presentations, and research. No need to ask first.

There are two conditions. Show a visible credit near the image, and link the credit to the page where you found the image or to our homepage. You may add nofollow or other link attributes if your site requires them.

Please host the image on your own site. Do not link directly to the image file on our website.

Use whichever version fits where you publish. Swap in the page where you found the image if you prefer.

Some uses go beyond editorial and educational work. For these, ask first and wait for a written yes from The Search Sherpa.

• Ads, paid campaigns, and sales materials
• Service pages or pitch decks for another marketing agency or consultant
• Paid courses, paid memberships, and products you sell
• Edited versions of an image, including crops that remove our credit or brand
• Any use of a photo of Jeremy Bengtson or our team, other than news or articles about The Search Sherpa that credit us

A few uses are not allowed under any license. They mislead readers or misrepresent The Search Sherpa.

• Presenting our images as your own work
• Removing or covering The Search Sherpa name, logo, or mascot
• Presenting a fictional person from an AI-generated image as a real customer, employee, review, or testimonial
• Suggesting that The Search Sherpa endorses you, your business, or your product
• Selling, sublicensing, or uploading our images to stock or template sites
• Any use that is unlawful, deceptive, or defamatory

We cannot give permission for content we do not own. Screenshots of other companies' tools, their logos, and video thumbnails belong to those companies or creators.

If you want to reuse one of those, ask its owner. Our free use terms above do not cover it.

If you believe an image on our site uses your work without permission, or shows you without your consent, email SEO@thesearchsherpa.com. Include the page URL, the image, and what you want us to know.

We will review it and correct or remove the image where appropriate.

We provide our images as they are, without warranties of any kind. You are responsible for how you use them.

The Search Sherpa is not liable for claims that come from your use of our images.

We may update this page from time to time. Updates will be posted here with a revised effective date.

Written permission we have already given stays valid on the terms it states.
