Watch: Ask Customers for a Reddit Post, Not Just a Google Review

In this 28-second short, AI SEO creator Joshua Albanese suggests a small change to a habit most local businesses already have. When a customer is happy with the work, ask whether they use Reddit, and if they do, whether they would share their experience there.

His reasoning, from the video’s own description, is that a star rating and a real human account of the work do different jobs. One feeds your rating. The other feeds what AI tools read when they decide which business to recommend. He would split the ask rather than replace it, so the Google review request stays.

Two cautions before you try it. The ask has to stay honest: no discount, no gift, and no script for what the customer should say. And nobody controls what Reddit users write or what ChatGPT, Perplexity, or Google AI Overviews choose to cite, so treat this as a way to earn genuine mentions, not a promise of AI visibility.
